Tragic Discovery of TISS Student's Body

A first-year student from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai, Anurag Jaiswal, was found dead in his rented apartment on Saturday morning. The 23-year-old student, originally from Lucknow, was pursuing a degree in Human Resources at TISS. The shocking discovery has left the TISS community and his family in deep mourning.

Night of Celebration Turns Fatal

On Friday night, Jaiswal attended a fresher's party in Vashi, where he reportedly consumed a significant amount of alcohol. The party, which was attended by approximately 150 students, continued into the early hours of Saturday. According to his roommates, Jaiswal returned to their shared apartment around 3 am and appeared to be unwell. The next morning, when Jaiswal failed to wake up, his concerned roommates rushed him to a hospital in Chembur, where he was sadly declared dead.

Police Investigation and Initial Findings

Mumbai Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Jaiswal's death. They have questioned his three roommates and are currently awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death. Preliminary findings indicate that there were no injury marks on Jaiswal's body, leading the police to rule out the possibility of ragging as a factor in his death. An accidental death report has been registered, and the police will continue to record detailed statements from Jaiswal's roommates and other party attendees as part of their ongoing investigation.

TISS Community Mourns the Loss

The administration of TISS has expressed its deep condolences to Jaiswal's family during this difficult time. In a statement, the institute said, "We are with Anurag’s family at this heartbreaking time, and our thoughts and prayers will always be with them." Jaiswal's family, who have been informed of the tragedy, have requested that the post-mortem be conducted only after their arrival in Mumbai.

As the investigation continues, the TISS community remains in mourning, seeking answers to the questions surrounding this untimely and tragic death.
